Garbage Disposal

- Please Do not throw Garbage on the road or at public places.
In India every 10 minutes you will find a dustbin. So why not just wait for 10 minutes.
Also whats wrong in keeping the wrapper of candy you have eaten or keeping the empty packets of takeaways for some time more?
Make sure you stop others even strangers from throwing Garbage too.

- 4 bin or 3 bin practice

Keep separate bins for different types of waste/garbage.

We suggest a 3 bin system

1st - Wet waste. (Fruits, Vegetables, Dairy Products etc)

2nd - Paper waste. (Any kind of waste paper product)

3rd - Plastic waste. (Any form of plastic waste)

4th - Toxic / Metal waste. (Batteries, Tin Cans etc.)

If 4 bins are not suitable then 3 bins (Wet, Toxic, Recyclable)/ 2 (Wet and Dry) bins would also help a lot.

Basically, this helps in re-using and re-cycling.

Power

- Use LED lights (best) or CFLs instead of tube lights. Not only are they energy savers, they even reduce the bill.

- Always check the BEE star ratings (1* to 5*) before buying any home appliance. The more the star better the energy savings.

- Switch off the power of TV set if not viewing it. Don't just turn off from the remote, also the power source.

- Do not keep mobile phones on charging overnight. Just 2-3 hours are sufficient to charge it. It is bad for the phone too.

Water

- Do not take a shower. Prefer a Bucket Bath. While shower we keep the flow of water on till we finish our bath, a lot of water is wasted this way. If you cannot adjust to bucket bath, keep the stream slow.

- Ask your maid servants to close the taps while washing utensils and clothes. Preferably ask them to take a bucket of water and use that water than washing below the tap. Even dish washers are a better replacement.

- While brushing use a glass of water to gargle rather than through the tap. This way between gargles the tap would be closed.

- Use tank flushes rather than using flow flushes.

- Make sure that none of your taps are leaking. If they do make sure they are repaired at the earliest.
